Department Head Assistant Professor Dr. Zerrin Funda Ürük’s 2018-2019 Spring Semester Message

Students of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Faculty of Fine Arts, Istanbul Gelisim University; we prepare you as innovative, entrepreneurial, open to development, human-space and environment-related issues and sensitive interior architects.

At the end of your four-year undergraduate education, you will become individuals who work and produce interdisciplinary in national and international fields. Our first step in this direction is the success of our international accreditation, which will allow you to get ahead from many students in the same department. As of 2018-2019 academic year, we took another step to expand your horizons with our new and contemporary studio locations in Gelisim Tower. We offer an environment where you can work comfortably all day, develop yourself more in cultural and social sense, and work interdisciplinary with other university students and stakeholders outside the university.

We create spaces where you can interactively interact with designers and companies and to master current and future design ideas and practices. In addition, during your four-year undergraduate education, our curriculum will provide you to have more time to get your professional knowledge in a more regular way and to work and consolidate the professional knowledge you have gained in these courses. We offer you the opportunity to work interdisciplinary with the use of elective courses pool from all departments of the Faculty of Fine Arts, which will be a first step of supporting your professional courses. We want to make sure that every step you take for your professional life by offering these opportunities to you are determined and confident steps.
