Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Environmental Design Departments. The book chapter of asst. Prof. Dr. Cansın İlayda Çetin, titled "A Brief History of the Photographic Thinking System: Examining the Development of Our Perspective on Space through Photography" has been published.

The study titled “A Brief History of the Photographic Thinking System: Examining the Development of Our View of Space Through Photography”, is included in the book titled “Research and Evaluations in Fine Arts” of the Night Library of asst. Prof. Dr. Cansın İlayda Çetin: Introduction, Photographic Thinking System, Intersection of Photography and Architecture, It consists of Searching for Photography in the World, Photography in the Bauhaus School, Le Corbusier Photography and Its Influence on Turkish Architects and Results. The text was published as the sixth chapter of the book. Asst. Prof. Dr. Cansın İlayda Çetin made the following statements about her published episode:

“To question how photography, which inspires designers in various ways, can be used more efficiently for evaluating and developing architecture, based on the argument that our perspective differs in terms of quantity and quality over time; In addition, examining its conceptual and theoretical development is very important for design development. In this book chapter, I aimed to discuss how today's photography inflation can benefit from architectural perception, evaluation, and development, and to evaluate it over the specified periods. I tried to examine the perception differences caused by the visual differences in the periods and the formation of different designs arising from these differences by giving examples from the periods that were the breaking point in design and photography.
In the study, the search for photography in the world and the development of our view of architecture through photography are discussed in light of the Bauhaus period and the influence of Le Corbusier's photography, which also affected Turkey in many political, cultural, and social areas. In addition, the intersection of the photographic thinking systems and photography with architecture has been evaluated in separate sections. As a result of the examples examined, the non-artistic use of photography was realized by adopting it as a method and the attitudes created during the design process, beyond the perceptual experience, were mentally intelligible through various documents. The most basic point reached at the end of the study is that the purpose of photography is beyond being perceived only as a documentation tool, it has the power to create a perception based on a new way of seeing.”
We would like to thank Asst. Prof. Cansın İlayda Çetin for her contributions and wish her continued success.
